Explore We know the plants are essential for our well being. We recently discovered the rate of photosynthesis can be effected by the various conditions. Such as using carbon dioxide, water, and baking soda. If the plants rate of photosynthesis can change from the conditions contributed in the experiments. Can the different types of plants can effect the rate of photosynthesis?
Research Question We want to test the rate of photosynthesis from different types of plants. We saw how the plant discs from each experiment was effected by the conditions for each individual experimentation. Therefore, We came up with a hypothesis of, "Can the plant's type be effective during the rate photosynthesis?" Because due to the fact that the rate of photosynthesis was effected through the CO2, water, and baking soda, It would make sense if we theorize the rate of photosynthesis can be effected by the type of plants. If the types of leaves are different. Then, we would unmask the question of the effects of the rate of photosynthesis. Because various plants can end up with greater (R.O.P.) than the other.
Predictions Since, we're testing the various types of plants for each rate of photosynthesis. We're experimenting each plant to see which plant is more effective than the other in the end of each experiment through the leaf disc method to find the rate of photosynthesis. The leaf disc method revolves around the floatation of each different disc within a 10 minute time limit. If there is more disc floating after the 10 minutes, we can concur that the plant is superior to the other due to that amount.
Experimental Design We're going to use the leaf disc method to collect data on the rate of photosynthesis for each plant. The Independent variable is the extensive types of plant leaves being used for each experiment and trial. The dependent variable is measured through the floatation of each experiment/ trial during each ten minute trial run of the individual plant leaves. The control variable is the spinach since it's our neutral to the comparisons of each experiment/ trial in the plant type Hypothesis. Step 1, cut 10 disc from each leaf. Step 2, add 100 ml cup of water and 1 g of baking soda. Step 3, add leaves to each cup and make them sink with a syringe.(Put thumb on the trigger, put down.) Step 4, Start timer for 10 minutes. Step 5, after 10 min. count how many leaves are at the top. Step 6, write down data. Step 7, pour out water. Step 8, add new water to each cup (100 ml) and 1 g of baking soda. Step 9, cut out another 10 leaf disc, Step 10, wait for 10 minutes until the end of the experiments. Step 11, count on how many leaves that were in the the top. Step 12, write the data again. Step 13, Do steps 7 - 12 for the rest of the method.
