Work on this next! What do we know about plants from our experiences outside of school? What have we discovered in class and background research? What questions about plants interest us? |
---|---|
Research Question | Will the plant grow faster if we play jazz music? |
Predictions | If we play jazz music, then the plant will grow faster. |
Experimental Design | First, we will cut a 1-20 oz sized gatorade bottle in half. In the bottom half of the gatorade bottle we will put reservoir water in it. We will put the top part of the gatorade bottle upside down inside the the bottom half of the bottom part of the bottle. Then inside the top part of the... |
Conclusion | What claim can we make from our experiment? What are possible explanations for our results? How do the data we collected and our reasoning with scientific ideas support our claim? What future experiments could be done to expand on the results of this experiment? |

Hi Team,
Due to our efforts to maintain student privacy, we needed to edit your screenshot to remove any reference to a student email address. Everything else was kept the same.
Best wishes,

Hi Team,
How's the project going? Have your seeds sprouted?
Hi Justin! Sorry for not communicating as well as we should have. Anyways, We put a high florescent light bulb in a box with our music plants, and the light burned the plants to death after it had already sprouted. So, We had to replant the plant, and now we have decided to go with natural light instead. As for our other plants, that are not exposed to music, Are doing very well with nice leaves and stems. We will be uploading daily pictures!
Thanks! -Chloe
Justin,
Please check the files for any pictures we have uploaded about our experiment. If you have any questions please ask, and if there is anything you need us to do please tell us.
Thanks! - Delaney
Hi Delaney, Thanks for attaching the screenshot. It seems like the planting itself is good. I'd like to know more about the jazz music aspect of the project though. Will you have multiple gatorade bottles, some exposed to jazz music and some not? How long will you play the jazz music for? Thanks

Hello, I'm just checking in to see how things are going. Could you update your project info (experimental design, etc)? Also, please describe why you believe Jazz music will make plants grow faster. Is this a scientifically based prediction?
Hi Justin! My name is Breckyn. I am in 7th grade. I enjoy horseback riding, volleyball, swimming, and hanging out with my friends. I have 2 dogs named Addie and Murphy. They are both girls. I have a brother who will be turning 2 on October 11.
Hi folks, I'm Justin, I'll be the liason for this and other projects in the class. I'm a PhD student at Saint Louis University, I study pollination in Missouri and Arizona.
In my free time I love sports (especially soccer), dancing, and art. We have a pet black cat named Vishu. He's only 1.5 years old, and he's really cute!!!
I'll be monitoring all the groups, so students, mentors, and teachers can feel free to contact me at any point if you have any questions or issues.
Hi Justin! I'm Chloe (the one with the brown hair and the glasses!). I am a english horseback rider, and I do jumping! I also enjoy volleyball, but I usually spend my time riding. The girls in my group are the awesomest! We are super good friends! There's me, Allie, Delaney, and Breckyn!
I am very excited to start working with you! If you have any more questions about us, or the project, don't hesitate to ask!
Thanks! ~Chloe!
