    My primary area of interest is plant genomics. I particularly work in mutant characterization, genome editing, genome-wide association studies.

    What is your favorite plant? Why?

    Rice is my favorite plant. It is my favorite as it keeps on fascinating me as I get deeper into understanding its tolerance mechanisms to biotic and abiotic stress.

    What was the first science experiment you ever designed? How did it turn out?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
    My first science experiment was an optimization of the micropropagation protocol for sugarcane during my second year of undergraduate. We had got some exciting results out of it.

    When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

    It was during the third year of my undergraduation programme that I decided to get into a science career. Up to the third year, I had completed basic courses in plant sciences and plant genomics had become my area of interest. I was excited to learn more about plant genomics and decided to go forcareer in science.
