BILL(money plant)

Project by group dmsstiemspring2022

Explore We know that plants need sunlight, H2O, and oxygen to feed themselves. We also know that certain plants can feed people and animals. In class we have discovered that plants perform a process called cellular respiration. We also learned that plants color comes from its chloroplast.
Research Question How does the amount of CO2 affect the plant growth.
Predictions If there is less Co2 than the plant will not grow as much compared to the plant with Co2, because Co2 is a key component of photosynthesis and plant growth.
Experimental Design Step One: Get three different petri dishes Step Two: Get three paper towel Step Three:add 15, 20, 25 ml of water into each petri dish Step Four: Put five mustard seeds in petri dishes Step Five: One petri dish needs to be open, one half closed, one fully closed Step Six: Each mustard seed needs to be held under the same amount of light Step Seven: Every day, measure plant length in centimetres and rotate each of the five mustard seeds everyday. Step Eight: Repeat step seven and three every day until the experiment is over.
Conclusion If there is more Co2 than the plant will grow less. Evidence of this is the open Petri dish seeds grew on average .5 cm. While the closed Petri dish seeds with less Co2 grew on average 2.75 cm. What was the seed gremenated really fast, and they died farelly quicklly. One thing I thought that was suprising is how fast they died, we watered them as good as we could, and they still died. Some things that we could have done is pay more attention to the plants and how they acted.
