Session 2 Agenda and Resources

Asynchronous Tasks:

Prior to the next session, complete the  following activities:

Team Tasks

  • Investigation
    Conduct the experiment for the Hands-on with the Power of Sunlight activity: Spinach Leaf Disk part 2

    • Design your experiment using the spinach leaf-disk floatation method. 

    • In general, the design will be to compare what happens to leaf disks in light compared with dark (including a carbon source). 

    • Work with your team to think about your experimental design (student guide, step 4, page 21). 

    • The second part of this investigation focuses on the questions in Step 7. In step 8, work with teammates to determine some of the details of the investigation. 

Individual Tasks:

            When you are done, go back and comment on at least two of your colleagues' posts.

  • Daily Survey

  • Complete the Meta Moment (5 min)
    Reflect on today’s learning experiences in  your journal:
    • What did you learn?

    • How did you learn it?

    • What do you want to be sure to remember as you implement the module?

    • Revisit your initial response to the focus question: How do we engage students in making their thinking visible?
