Gummy Bears

Project by group whsrhinefall2020

Explore We know that plants use photosynthesis they also need water and nutrients. We learned from school that plants are living and they create oxygen by absorbing CO2.
Research Question What affects a plant's seed mass?
Predictions We believe the amount of water affects the mass of the seed.
Experimental Design 1. Gather materials 2. Put paper into three different Petri dishes 3. Put exactly 1 gram of radish seeds into each dish 4. Place one dish in light with water 5. Place the second dish in dark with water 6. Place the last dish in light without water 7. Place dishes in conditions for two weeks 8. Place seeds into drying oven 9. Weigh the seed´s mass 10. Record data into a table 11. Make a graph
Conclusion We can conclude that seeds do not need sunlight to grow but needs water to grow. However, when a seed has grown into a plant, the plant will need both water and sunlight. The possible explanation for our results is that since seeds are grown in the soil it does not need light to grow. It supports our claim because it shows that seeds do not need light to begin growth. We could test different types of water or lights.
