sxutatumfall2021 project 11

Project by group sxutatumfall2021

Explore From our experiences outside of school we know that plants live on soil, consume sunlight and water, some have characteristics such as leaves, bright colors, roots, and are grown using seeds. What we discovered in class is plants make their food from a process called photosynthesis, the leaves take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen, create food for animals to eat, and come in different shapes and sizes. Questions about plants that interest us are what is the best and most efficient way to grow a plant?
Research Question We want to test the germination procedure using different parent lines.
Predictions Some possible outcomes for our study given our variables are that some seeds might not grow. On the other hand the rest of the seeds might grown overtime. Some seeds might not grown from the possibility of not having enough sunlight or the the lack of water that it was given. Meanwhile the rest of the seeds might grown overtime if the right amount nutrients is given to it.
Experimental Design We will closely monitor the plants and look for any significant signs of growth and compare with the rest of the plants. All the variables will be same, same amount of water, sunlight, and fertilizer. If a plant is not growing as expected and falls behind, we might adjust the variables and we will document it. We will record our data in tables.
