Explore We are interested in how the wavelength (or color) of light affects the growth of plants.
Research Question How does the color of light provided to a plant affect it's growth?
Predictions The plant receiving white light (the control) will grow the most, followed by the plant receiving blue light, then the plant receiving red light. The plant receiving green light will grow the least. Since the color of the leaves are green, green light is being reflected the most out of the visible light spectrum and not being absorbed.
Experimental Design Setup: Three of the same plant (broccoli), each getting a different color of light. (White, red, green, blue) Independent variable: Color of light Dependent variable: Height of plant Data collected: Height of plants (in cm)
