ITS PARTY THYME!

Explore Hello, this is Tessa. I don’t have much experience with plants but my mom likes to plant. I sometimes plant with her. We have a small garden that we sometimes tend to that has some flowers. I'm not sure what type but I can ask my mom. In 5th grade we did a bean project and I had it alive for a month but I went camping and forgot to water it. In the spring me and my mom plant tulips. Hello my name is Teia. Before we moved to my new house, my family had a flower garden, but it died because we were very busy with work. The types of flowers that were in it were roses, daisies Black-eyed susan and much more. In your new house my mom wants to have a BIG green house to put plants that we used to have at our old house in California. hi my name is dean i have a garden that is mostly flowers and some vegetables I have a dog.
Research Question How many tablespoons of salt can be put into 500 milliliters of water before it doesn't grow coriander anymore?
Predictions We think that 2 tablespoons is the highest amount of salt water the plant can have before the plant will not want to grow anymore.
Experimental Design The set up of our experiment: We will have 3 pots each for 4 different sections. Each pot will have 5 coriander seeds. Group A will be watered with just plain tap water. Group B will be watered with 500 ml of water with 1 tablespoon of salt. Group C will have 500 ml of water with two tablespoons of salt in the water. And finally group D will be watered with 500 ml of water with 4 tablespoons of salt. We will water them an inch every week. We will keep them in equal sunlight. We will check progress every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We will put rulers into the plant pots to measure height over time. We will be using planting soil for our soil.
Conclusion Our conclusion was we thought that two tablespoons of salt was the highest amount of salt that the plant will take. Our conclusion was fully supported. The most amount of salt that coriander could take was 2 tablespoons. The final height for group A was 12.2 cm. The final height for group B was 7.3 cm but we had germination issues and they sprouted late that is why it is messed up. The final height for group C was 12 cm. And the final height for group D was also 12 cm but we stopped measuring three days early because they had died. One of our future research questions is how can salt affect other plants not just coriander.
