Research Question What are the dominant traits when breeding non-purple hairless plants and purple stem hairy plants? We were interested because there were such drastic differences between the two species.
Predictions When breeding non-purple hairless and purple hairy plants, the majority of the plants will be purple and hairless, so those traits are the dominant traits.
Experimental Design 1. Plant 3 purple stem hairy and 3 non-purple hairless plants, alternating which seed you plant. 2. Cross-breed the plants when flowers form. 3. Pick seeds, plant 12 resulting seeds in 2 bottles. 4. Observe plant growth. 5. Determine phenotype of daughter plants.
