Project by group mhsmirandafall2022

Explore I know the basic things a plant needs in order to grow, I help my dad plant vegetables like cucumbers and onions and I also help my mom take care of her flowers. What interests me about plants is finding out different methods to grow them. I want to learn about different methods to make a plant grow.
Research Question We know that in order for a plant to grow it needs water. We want to test if different water temperatures will effect the plant's growth. We are testing cold water, room temp water, and hot water.
Predictions We believe that the room temperature warter will grow the best, the very cold water would work as well but not as good as the normal water temperature, and hot water might not even work and if it does it will grow the least.
Experimental Design We will fill the pots/cups 3/4s filled with soil. We will then plant three seeds in each pot/cup. We will water all three plants 3 times a week. ( Monday, Wednesday and Friday) One cup will be on a hot plate to maintain the hot temperature we want. The second cup will be watered with very cold water. The third cup will be watered with normal room temperature water. Each plant will receive one to two inches of water when it is time to water. We will keep track of the growth of each plant every week by recording the hight of the plants growth.
Conclusion We believe that the room temperature water will grow the best and the other two temperatures might affect the plant.
