All we know is one plant is a saltwater plant and then the other is a freshwater plant. The ph. level can affect the phenol red. Photosynthesis accrues better with direct light. |
Research Question |
Does the type of plant, whether a freshwater or saltwater plant effect the rate of photosynthesis? We think it is going to be saltwater because of the Ph level because of the chemical Ph level due to the saltwater and because it's in the dark. |
Predictions |
We think that the saltwater plant in the dark with do better than the fresh water. Plant and the saltwater plant in the light. |
Experimental Design |
Our plan is that we are going to have four test tubes two of them for light and then two of them for dark. In one of the light test tubes, we are going to have the freshwater plant and then in the other one we are going to have the saltwater plant. Then in the dark test tubes, we are going to do the same thing one of them is going to have the freshwater plant and then the saltwater plant. |
Conclusion |
In conclusion the plant in the saltwater turned a yellowish color and the fresh water turned a red/orange color. The reason we thought the salt water would turn a yellow color was because of the lower ph in the salt water and we were correct. Even though they both changed a color the salt water had more of a change in color. |
