Biology Bandits

Project by group gwhsmoodyposfall2023

Explore Plants go throught photosynthesis and create their own food. We have discovered that plants make a sugar called glucose to feed itself.
Research Question Will a leaf with no pressure gain more carbon with only water or a water solution? We discussued amongst our team mates and asked eachother what questions we had about photosynthesis.
Predictions We think that the water with baking soda and dish soap will make the leaves ride faster because it will produce more carbon for the leaf to pick up.
Experimental Design Our plan is to take water in a syringe and pull out as much pressure out of the leaves as we can until they sink in the water. We will split the leaves into a even amount into each water container and set a timer for 10 minutes. We will write down our observations in our notebook. Once we have put our leaves in both tubes, we will put them under a light and watch. We already kind of know how this lab will go, but we want to make corrections from last time. We will be measure the time it takes for the leaves to rise in the water and the solution.
