Project by group gauclapellspring2018

Explore We have all planted plants from our previous schools. We all know about a plants' lifespan and their interior mechanisms. What we actually don't know about relates to whether plants are alive or not...
Research Question We want to track our individual types of seeds and see if they are alive. We will do this by assessing if they are composed of cells or not.
Predictions We think that seeds are as alive as the plants they turn into. The only two outcomes for our specific experiment are that they either are composed of cells or they are not. We think that we will find cells on the seeds.
Experimental Design We plan to monitor the ways our respective species grow and make sure they are brought up in similar environments. We will make sure to record these conditions. When our seeds fully germinate, we will look at them under a microscope and see if they are made of cells or not (we will look at both the original seed and the stem/leaves). Although we are all doing different plants, we will make sure that the amount of water and way of measurement stay the same. The data is qualitative so we will simply write it down in our notebooks.
