Our group outside experince is some of our plants in the winter time there are some plants like grass green bur we have rye grass and at the summer time it will bloom and be a perfect green. WE also have naturium flower and that grows in a warm and rainfall habitat. |
Research Question |
So we had three questions the first one is the one we stuck with
1. Which germinates faster Nasturtium or Rye grass?
2. Which makes the Pea germinate faster fertilized soil or regular soil?
3. Does the amount of light affect the germination rate? |
Predictions |
Here is our prediction:
If we plant Rye grass and Nasturtium, then the Rye grass will germinate faster.
Independent variable: plant type
Dependent variable: days it takes to germinate
Control variables: Paper towel, water, location
We think that the Rye grass will germinate faster because grass grows really fast so ya. |
Experimental Design |
1. fold paper towels into 3 or 4 layers each and place one in all 8 petri dishes
2. in 4 petri dishes put 5 nasturtium seed each, in 4 petri dishes put 5 rye grass seeds each
3. add about 4-6 drops of water in each petri dish
4. put in correct environment (room temperature, normal light level)
5. add a few drops of water and check temperature and light levels every day
6. measure length and width of seed, and look for roots, shoots, seed coat cracks and other new visible things
7. record all observations in a data table and include petri dish and seed number |
