Research Question |
How does the temperature of the air affect germination? |
Predictions |
Air at 70 degrees Fahrenheit will be the best for seed germination. It will be the best because it won't be too hot or cold for the plant. |
Experimental Design |
Step 1: Put 8 seeds in 3 petri dishes filled with paper towel.
Step 2: Place 15 ml of water into each container.
Step 3: Wrap each Petri dish in tin foil to limit light.
Step 4: Place the Petri dishes in their environments (Fridge, Heat lamp, and the room.).
Step 5: Record which ones germinate first.
Step 6: Measure their plant growth.
Step 7: Repeat steps 2,5, and 6 every day until the test is done. |
Conclusion |
Our group's claim was that room temperature would germinate the best. Some of the research we did said that room temperature would do the best because it said between 40*F and 70*F, and this supports our claim because our room temp was around 70*F. We could do future experiments by adding one or two more Petri dishes for each variable. |
