We know all plants that plants take in carbon dioxide to go through photosynthesis to produce food for itself and produce oxygen for human's. |
Research Question |
How does the pH level affect the germination of the radish plant? We know that when photosynthesis occurs we know the seed germinate but does pH affect that? |
Predictions |
Some seeds may sprout while others may not sprout. I think that with a low pH level the seed will not sprout as much with a normal or higher pH level. Low pH is acidic which would make the solution acidic which is not good for the plant. |
Experimental Design |
We will grow 3 radish seeds in 3 different petri dishes. One with high pH, low pH, and normal pH. We will time the seeds and see how the germination is affected by the pH. |
Conclusion |
We had 0 that germinated at low pH 4, 19 germinated at regular pH 7, and all seeds germinated at a high pH level of 9. The possible explanation for this result is the higher the pH the more seeds germinate. The data shows that the higher pH level all the seeds germinated. Future experiments that could be done are how the seeds grow at all the different pH levels. This experiments helped us gain understanding on what photosynthesis is and how it occurs |
