    1. Using different abiotic stresses (drought, heat, or cold) treat plants to identify their difference in the expression of genes (DNA) and phenotype (proteins). 2. Transfer some useful genes to Arabidopsis (model plant), rice and switchgrass to generate transgenic plants in order to enhance their specific resistance under adverse conditions.
