  I study Queen Anne's lace, or wild carrot, genetics. I use this species to study mitochondrial dynamics within the plant and from generation to generation

  Science is great in that you can ask questions and then design ways to answer those questions. The best part of being a scientist is when a series of questions is answered and you get to tell a cool story about what you learned.

  I began school as a nursing student, but when I took Human Anatomy and Physiology I realized that I loved biology, rather than taking care of people. By becoming a scientist, I continue to learn cool things.

  Can you describe your attitude toward science when you were in high school?

  I loved science in high school. I took Biology II as a senior elective because I loved it so much. That class was cool because half of it was Zoology and half was Botany. I learned some really great things in that class, and my teacher was pretty amazing too!

Hi group! Your results were fairly straightforward. Your reasoning as to why salt might negatively impact photosynthesis is very nice. Photosynthesis did occur, but at a slower rate. Very nice job.

Those sound like interesting investigations. I like your question about how salinity affects the rate of photosynthesis. You say you think that higher salinity will be detrimental - how so? That goes back to how/why your leaf disks…

Those sound like interesting investigations. I like your question about how salinity affects the rate of photosynthesis. You say you think that higher salinity will be detrimental - how so? That goes back to how/why your leaf disks floated to the top of the water. At what point would you consider the salinity detrimental? 

As for varying levels of salinity, what levels are you thinking of testing?
