  • Research Interests (300 words)
I'm interested in community ecology and mutualisms between plants and microbes. I have experience doing greenhouse work, lab work and field work.

  • Profile Question 1
What is best about being a scientist?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
You get to work everyday on answering questions you're passionate about! Being a scientist means you're adding to the collective knowledge humans have of life.

  • Profile Question 2
What is a typical day like for you?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
Usually I'll read research papers that are relevant to my experiments, then attend class or a seminar. Once a week I'll spend my entire day out in the field taking measurements on my plants.

  • Profile Question 3
Do you have advice for students about preparing for a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):
In high school I took all three sciences (Physics, Biology, Chemistry) as well as the math classes, so that I wouldn't be lacking any pre-requisites in first year university. In first year you have to take all those classes anyway, and having a broad background in science can help you to narrow down what you're interested in!
