  Family Asteraceae, Genus Vernonia. Studied the ecological survey, morphology, cytogenetics and reproductive biology of sixteen tropical species for a PhD degree award and subsequent post doctoral research activities.

  What is the coolest thing you have discovered or learned about plants?

  The discovery of bristles of various sizes and shapes on the surface of seemingly smooth hair-like strands of pappus on fruits (achenes) of Vernonia species. These occurrences served in delimiting between species and identification of growth forms - herbs, shrubs or trees.
