Research Question |
Would an aquatic plant such as duckweed photosynthesize differently than spinach when put through the same tests? |
Predictions |
If we test the rate of photosynthesis of an aquatic plant compared to a land plant in different environments the aquatic plant may have a higher rate of photosynthesis. |
Experimental Design |
Test the rate of photosynthesis in spinach and in duckweed in two different environments. Test the different environments three times each. One will be 100ml of water under a light for 15 minuted with 10 spinach disks in it. The other will be 100ml of water with 1g baking soda in it for 15 minutes under a light. Test duckweed and spinach in those two environments. Measure how many disks of each plant float to the top of the cup of liquid in 15 minutes. Keep the amount of leaves, size of cup, amount of each solution, wattage of light, time under light and steps the same. Write down how many leaves float to the top of the cup every minute for 15 minutes. |
