  • Research Interests (300 words)
Environmental cues like drought and osmotic-related insults are challenging the sustainability and productivity of agriculture ecosystems. Feeding the increasing human population in decades to come will require the development of efficient crops to cope with low productivity. As a plant biologist my prerequisite interest is towards understanding the genetic, molecular and physiological mechanisms underlying the adaptation of plant to abiotic stresses. Feel free to contact me through any of given network links. I am always open for productive collaborations and discussions
    My Research:
Plant physiology and environmental interactions, Gene discovery and functional genomics for future ready crops

  • Profile Question 1
When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
Science was off course my best subject. Later I inclined more in to biology, because I was the one who answered all teacher's questions related to biology. I am the only one in my high-school batch who is still studying biological science. I always love growing plants, working in farm and looking at crops my father was growing. Probably that was the time I decided that I want to study plants.

  • Profile Question 2
What is a typical day like for you?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
A typical day starts with morning yoga/meditation/walk in nature. First thing I do after reaching lab is visiting my plants in growth chamber. Followed by execution of experimental plans I planned day before. I like talking to my colleagues and having some light moments during the day over tea.

  • Profile Question 3
Do you have advice for students about preparing for a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):
A career in science is all about asking questions, learning and finding answers. I would advice younglings to be more curious, passionate and hardworking. We as real scientists face failures almost everyday, very often in lab while sometimes in fields. What is most amazing part is we never stop. A good training in science not only prepare you for a great career but also for great life lessons. A scientist is mixed contribution of number of mentors so learn from everyone and stick to advises wisely.

"What we noticed is that the plants that got more water had bigger root systems". This is a wonderful observation and statement you all come with. I am so proud, the way Rocking roots put the observation data together.

I looked at the Planting science journal you all are writing. Very good job, now you all should also put your thoughts in words. Like what did you observed as a conlusion of your experiments with these plants.
