Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
I began teaching at a private school, right after I graduated from college, only because I needed a job. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it! I found that teaching allowed me to indulge a wide range of scientific interests! I have lived and taught in Kenya, Wyoming, France, and New York, and have been settled in Fair Lawn, NJ for the past 18 years. Currently, I teach high school honors biology, environmental science, and horticulture. I am passionate about these topics, and getting myself and my students into the outdoors (not an easy feat in suburbia!) . Outside of school, I play violin in an orchestra, and am trying to start a bluegrass band, as well as trying to complete backpacking the Colorado trail.
