    I did my graduate work on bacterial motility. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher studying antimicrobial resistance. Outside of this, I am broadly interested in biology and ecology.

    What is best about being a scientist?

    The best thing about being a scientist is that life behaves in unexpected ways. There are so many unexplored questions and nature is so smart - living things adapt and evolve leading and incredible amount of biodiversity.

    What is tough about being a scientist?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
    One of the most frustrating things about being a scientist is that experiments often don't work the first time, or the second or the third. Research involves a lot of patience and trial and error and at the end of the day, you may feel like you have wasted all of your time. The rewards come later after a lot of perseverance.

    I love herbs because somehow I seem to be able to grow them.
