Thanks for your question about what I teach and study - I commented above answering these questions to introduce myself to the whole group.

I think your goal to become a neurosurgeon is great! It is great that you have a lot of support. Though I don't know any neurosurgeons, I have several friends who are neuroscientists. They study how the brain works in terms of how cells in the brain talk to one another, what parts of the brain and which cell types are responsible for different things like smell, taste, learning and memory, fear, etc.... It is a very exciting field of study!
