    I am interested in how plants are responding to climate change. My research specifically looks at how native prairie wildflowers and grasses adapt to summer drought.

    When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

    I knew I was interested in a science career from a young age. I always loved being outside in nature with my dog. I new I wanted to work with plants or animals with the goal of conservation.

    What is best about being a scientist?

    It is so fun being able to explore interesting science questions and study plants for a career. I get to spend time outside, in the greenhouse, and in the lab as part of my research. So everyday is different. I get to learn new things about plants and work with other passionate people.

    Explore opportunities to learn about different aspects of science and biology. Science is very integrated, and it is important to be able to communicate with many different people. You may learn about new interests and potential research paths too.
