  • Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
My teaching philosophy revolves around sharing this enthusiasm for learning with my students and fostering their critical thinking abilities. I strive to enhance their learning experience by drawing from the best teaching methods I've encountered, eliminating ineffective techniques, and encouraging practical application. My teaching approach is shaped by my educational and mentoring experiences, particularly during my time at the University of Georgia. I had the privilege of mentoring two undergraduate students, one from the CGGv2/REEU program (Crop Genetics and Genomics II / Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates, an NSF-supported initiative designed to provide research experiences for undergraduates), and one high school student, collaborating with them on diverse projects. I aided them in grasping the fundamentals of research, plant breeding, genetics, and various computational biology tools, including QTL mapping. Additionally, I designed and conducted Genetics workshops for high school teachers. My commitment is to foster a vibrant learning environment where students can thrive and stay engaged with the latest developments in Plant Science. My goal is to develop and teach courses that cover not only foundational concepts but also the emerging trends in the field. I aspire to create an inclusive and diverse classroom where every student has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
