Research Interests (300 words)I am currently about to graduate with my Bachelor’s in Biology and am looking for graduate school opportunities in Entomology but I enjoy plant/insect interactions and ecology. I have done research with pollination studies of native plants, crop nematology research, and some plant genetics research. I am very passionate about bringing awareness to any overlooked organism. Whether that is plants, insects, amphibians, reptiles, or something else.

Profile Question 1What is best about being a scientist?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):I can ask as obscure of a question as I want! If there's not a paper on it, it's free for me to test. Even if there is a paper on it I can also test it as science is all about repetition. This is what I did with my pollination study. I could only find a couple of papers on my specific plant, so I went to observe the plant as often as I could.

Profile Question 2When and why did you decide to go into a science career?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):I've always loved science. It started as dream of a career in paleontology as a kid, but my love of science didn't diminish as I aged. Later I joined FFA in middle school and competed in CDEs such as floriculture, nursery landscaping, and forestry. I competed in these and other CDEs throughout middle school into high school. These CDEs exposed me to plants more in-depth than I had ever gone. Because of this, I wanted to pursue a career in plant pathology. This is why I went to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for biology. However, as I'm getting close to graduation I am considering pursuing a career in entomology (insect). I do not want to leave behind the plants and would love to do research on both insects and plants.

Profile Question 3What is the coolest thing you have discovered or learned about plants?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):Plants can be parasitic! The plant I did my pollination study is a hemiparasitic plant. This means it is only partially parasitic. However, some plants can be holoparasitic meaning they are fully parasitic

Hey everybody! Sorry I couldn’t answer your last few questions before break. I was traveling home for my own break. I can still answer those questions if you want me to, or any other ones. I hope your experiments went well and that you all…

So both why I am interested in plants and why I got into Biology stem from the about same thing. I participated in multiple CDEs with my local FFA chapter, and the ones I did were all plant-related. I grew up in a rural area but most of…

It depends on which research it's about. I love both so sometimes what I think is amazing can be underwhelming to other people. For my undergraduate research, I was able to show that two similar plants also have similar pollinators, and I…
