    New York University

  • Role
Scientist Mentor: I will mentor teams of students online

  • Research Interests (300 words)
The main goal of my research is to investigate how plants grow thick and strong. To do that, I use methods in anatomy, molecular biology, and computational biology to investigate the patterns and processes that generate wood and bark. In my research, I particularly investigate atypical patterns of wood and bark formation in the stems of lianas -- those are the woody vines or climbing plants, like wisteria, grape vine, or English and poison ivy.
