    I work on phylogenetics and chemical Evolution, so i look at how legumes have evolved.

    When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

    I grew up loving science and always wanted to wear a lab coat and work in a lab. Now I am finally at that stage and it is so much fun and worth the work.

    What is tough about being a scientist?

    What is tough is to keep going when the experiment of the day failed. But everyone is really kind in my field and it is important to remember that we all fail sometimes.

    Can you describe your attitude toward science when you were in high school?

    I adored science in highschool and went out of my way to enter the local junior college early to get access to a laboratory at 15.
