    What lessons have you learned in your career about how science works?

    Science is very difficult. It requires a lot of patience, effort, and preparation. Many days can be very frustrating, but when you achieve what it is you are aiming for, it is the best feeling in the world.

    Do you have advice for students about preparing for a science career?

    Do your due diligence. Make sure you actually want to do what that person does on a daily basis. Spend a lot of time volunteering or shadowing in that area to really determine if it is a good fit for you.

    What is your favorite plant? Why?

    Currently, Cannabis is my favourite plant. Although I do not consume it, there are many wonderful things that we can use cannabis for. This includes medicine, fuel, textiles, clothes, etc.
