  • Profile Question 2
When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
I decided I was going to pursue a science carrier during my 3rd year in high school, I made this decision after observing lots of people wash their hands , because of unseen tiny organisms that are pathogenic, and seeing my grandma utilize plants to treat injuries, rashes and few other health issues

  • Profile Question 3
Can you share a funny/interesting lab or field story?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):
My funny lab story was during my undergrad industrial training. we were all interested in streaking plates and performing biochemical test on microorganisms, soo much so that we would struggle to be the first on the lab bench. surprisingly, there came a day when no one was willing to sit on the lab bench and this was because we found out we were going to work with Clostridium botulinum, which is cidal and causes paralysis. during the period of the project I saw the undergrad students including myself work with soo much fear, which amused me a lot. students who would usually disobey laboratory safety rules, were found adhering to them strictly without being told.
