  • Research Interests (300 words)
My research interests are centered around ecology. I am currently working on my Masters degree in Marine Biology studying jellyfish ecology in the Gulf of Mexico. I have previously studied aquatic insects and phytoplankton. I had an internship in Belize and studied everything from manatees, to river turtles, to conch, sea cucumbers, seaweed, and lobsters. I am fascinated by the way that biological life works together to create a viable ecosystem.

  • Profile Question 1
Do you have advice for students about preparing for a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
My best advice for students preparing for a science career is to have curiosity. There are countless questions waiting to be answered, and a variety of different approaches on how to try to answer those questions. Curiosity fuels science, and creates a persistence to discover how things work. Experiments often fail, and it is important to not get discouraged, and have continue to search for answers. Having curiosity helps you to learn more, solve problems creatively, and discover a new scientific discovery!
