  In high school I decided I wanted to go into a career in science. My older sister was majoring in ecology and it sounded like she was taking some cool classes and got to spend time outside in the forest.

  The opportunity to create and help create new knowledge and new data. There's something magical about gaining some understanding of something no one has before.
