  When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

  My parents have science-oriented careers, thus I grew up in a forest estate and my childhood involved active interaction with natural resources in the forest park. This helped build a strong foundation of my love for nature. As a nature-lover who also has a curious mind, a career in nature-based scientific research is inevitable. Following my Bachelor's degree in Biology, I discovered that there is so much more to learn about plants and nature, so I continued in my scientific adventure into the world of plants to date, and I have not regretted that decision!

  What is best about being a scientist?

  Meeting other scientists from all over the world, traveling to different countries and continents, ever learning new things every day, hiking to both familiar and unfamiliar terrains in search of new plants, and helping to save species in danger through research and management.

  What is your favorite plant? Why?

  I have favorite plants in different parts of the world. In the Great Basin Desert, western United States, Balsamorhiza hookeri (Hooker's Balsam) is my favorite plant. In blooming season (late April to May), its flowers have large bright yellow petals. What's really cool about this plant is that the flowers produce a scent that smells like chocolate!

The spinach grown in basic medium have fewer leaves and the shortest root length. Does this observation match your predictions?
