    Can you describe your attitude toward science when you were in high school?

    In high school I loved science because I was one of few girls who genuinely enjoyed learning about it.

    Do you have advice for students about preparing for a science career?

    I would advise students to remain patient and continue learning, because there are a lot of set-backs in science, but there is much to be learned from perserverance and continuing experiments.

    What was the first science experiment you ever designed? How did it turn out?

    I tested how cow magnets affected radish growth, and learned so much! I learned how time consuming projects can be, and I found it very interesting how an item with such a specific audience and field of study could be useful in a different field.
