The cells of the celery lost water because the cells are hypotonic (lower concentration of solutes) than the salty water. The salty water is hypertonic (high concentration of solutes). Water will move from a hypotonic environment (the celery cells) to a hypertonic environment making the cells lose water. 

You can measure the bending using a protractor and compare your results with your classmates that used different concentrations of salt.

Is there any particular reason for this concentration?

Are you comparing with the rest of the class using other concentrations?

It is important that you use "replicates" of your experiment, at least 3 cups per treatment (control and 20 g of salt). The idea is to eliminate sources of error.

Matteo, Pierce and Nile, It will be important to have more than one replicate (more than one cup),so you can measure and analyze the data. If we use only one replicate, something could happen in that particular cup that could be due to another factor.

Let’s also start discussing the reasons for the bending that you have observed so far.
