  I'm a plant ecophysiologist broadly interested in understanding how plants interact with their environment and what mechanisms are responsible for the acclimation and adaptation of plants, with a special focus on the role of plant carotenoids. I am a member of the EcoFisco group at the University of Basque Country. I am an expert in the study of the role and dynamics of photoprotective compounds in the plant stress tolerance in a wide number of species across a wide number of environmental factors. My research is characterized by a multidisciplinary perspective, covering from ecological to biochemical point of view, also with a more direct application of the knowledge in human nutrition.

  Since I was a child. I was really curious about nature. However, when I started the Biology degree was the real moment that I decided to be a scientist
