    My intrigue in science began at an early age, I have had a sense of wonder in exploring the world and asking questions to know more. My Ph.D. thesis research was focused on Phytoremediation of heavy metals using novel biotechnological tools. There was an interesting question about how plants respond at gene expression level to the changing environments. To find out the answers, I studied plant-metal interaction and characterized genes and their novel function in response to heavy metal. My research is constantly exploring new avenues of science with particular reference to plant-nutrient interaction and contributing to our understanding of how plant gene expression is regulated under the constantly changing nutrient conditions. My research interest includes Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Phytoremediation, Heavy Metal Toxicity, and Plant Genomics.

    Devesh has always been fascinated by science experiments from an early age. Being an agnostic person, he continuously searches for the answers to his questions and, science provides him the opportunity to get the answers.

    It puts me at the highest level of consciousness. It makes me alert for surrounding environment and events.

    It is a kind of razor's edge. You have to be right in the middle of the way without any prejudice or preoccupied condition of the mind, which is tough.
