I have several outcomes in mind for my students to achieve by participating in Planting Science. One is to do the scientific method during an authentic experiment. Another is to communicate professionally with actual plant scientists. I have seen my students step up their game when doing this before and I believe it helps with their overall confidence in terms of feeling like a scientist and that "doing science" is a career possibility.
