Our Outcomes

Hello mentors!

The students participating in this program are 11th and 12th grade students from a small, rural community.  They are taking a college biology course in high school.  Most of these students have a pretty strong background knowledge of science in chemistry and biology.  Having 30 students in the class can make it difficult for students to get a lot of guidance from me when doing a project like this.  We are excited to have the interaction of scientist mentors.  My goal is to have the students deepen their understanding of biology topics and see what a quality research project entails.  In addition, I hope for them to see what being a scientist means and get a chance to interact with someone who has this experience.
