About Our Class

  • Teacher: Bill Welch
  • Grades: High School Students (Grades 9,10,11,12)

What We're Doing

  • Planning to Start: 9/17/19
  • Planning to End: 11/28/19
  • Theme: Foundations of Genetics (traits, variation and environment in rapidly cycling Brassica)
  • Expected Breaks: 11/25/2019 -11/29/2019
  • Course: General Biology and Honors Biology

Our Outcomes

My Biology and Honors Biology students will be attempting to complete the Hairiness Lab to collect group data and compile all classes data for interpretation by all.  We will simply begin the project by collecting data on the affect of fertilizer concentration on plant growth and characteristics.  At the end of the fertilizer project we will replant seeds and select the top 10% hairiest plants to breed for our next generation.  We will determine if that artificial selection significantly altered the hairiness of the plants.
