Explore As we have learned, agronomy is a branch of agricultural science concerned with the study of crops and the soils in which they grow. Agronomists are working to develop methods for increasing food and fiber crop production while also improving soil use. Plants require sunlight, the right temperature, moisture, air, and nutrients to thrive. These five things are provided by the natural or artificial environments in which plants live. Farmers can get agricultural advice from agronomists on how to grow and care for plants and soils in specific conditions. Farmers must contend with a variety of factors when attempting to produce a plentiful harvest, including climate, roots, moisture, weeds, pests, fungi, and erosion. The question that intrigued our interest was whether you believe agronomy research and development will improve or continue to stagnate in the coming years.
Research Question How long of a period of time can a plant continuously maintain healthy with the right amount of water intake in direct sunlight?
Predictions I think if we were to leave a plant outside for a long period of time, with the right amount of water intake it would then simply last for about at least 5 hours.
Experimental Design For our experiment, we will begin with having two plants that had been previously watered exactly the same out in the sunlight. We will then allow them to sit in direct sunlight for as long as they can and time how long they last until they dry-out.
Conclusion Based on our research we came clear that it all depends on what type of plant we would be experimenting on. Simply because, not all plants are the same which leads to their different needs they need to be maintained by. As plants can vary from needing water constantly, from plants only needing to be watered once a week or even longer.
