Over the last couple of weeks, we learned that agronomy is technology of using plants in agriculture for fuel, food, and land restoration. When it comes to plant growth, there are many factors that affect plants from growth. Our climate affects plant growth since some plants will begin to die if there’s extreme heat or cold. Sunlight, water nutrients, temperature, and air helps our plants grow. How much of the five things they need vary on the plants. |
Research Question |
How does the amount of sunlight affect the growth of plants. We came up with this question after the class discussed about how much water the plants need. |
Predictions |
The more sunlight the plant gets, the better, but it will also need water regularly. |
Experimental Design |
We’d get a box and put one plant underneath it so that it’s in total darkness, put another in full sunlight, and put one in partial sunlight. All the plants would receive the same amount of water and would be left in their environment for a week. The plant covered with a box would be at room temperature. |
Conclusion |
The plant left in partial sunlight would be the one with the most growth since it had the best conditions while the plant left in full sunlight would wilt while the plant covered with a box wouldn't get enough sunlight. |
