One of the things we learned in agronomy is that depending on the climate it can affect plant growth. Another thing we learned is that there are 4 important components to plant growth which are sun, water, nutrients and proper temperature. |
Research Question |
Depending on the climate what are some things being restricted to the plants growth? |
Predictions |
One of the things that might be restricted is the lack of nutrients in the soil. |
Experimental Design |
Methodology:1) Collect 3 plants 2) Fill the planting pots with dirt and place one plant in each of the pots 3)Place one plant in a very sunny area, the second in a cold area with not much sunlight (maybe a closet or fridge?), and lastly one plant in an area that partially gets sun and no sun 4) Water and care for the plants as needed 5) Observe plants and measure plant growth and how they look physically 6) Note down data 7)Compare the sizes of the plants and take notes on their physical appearance. Controlled variable: Where the plant is placed. Independent variable: The amount of water given to the plant. Dependant variable: How long it takes the plant to grow |
Conclusion |
Temperature can restrict the amount of nutrients given to the plant. If the area is too hot then water will not be so present and wouldn't be able to transport all the nutrients from the water into the plants roots. As for it being too cold their won't be enough sun and warmth for the plant to go through photosynthesis to get their food. By doing the experimental design we can show how the factors important for plant growth missing affect the plants health. |
