Tree-mendous Tree-io

Project by group ulsdannfall2021

Explore When trying to discover the stormwater uptake with trees, we have to think about the size of the tree, the type of tree, and the number of trees in the area we are testing.
Research Question When comparing tree lots in Grosse Pointe and Detroit, which lot has the best stormwater uptake?
Predictions We think that Grosse Pointe will have better stormwater uptake because compared to the city because we think Grosse pointe lots will have healthier, larger, and more trees compared to Detroit.
Experimental Design Our plan is to go to Detroit and pick a lot where there are trees and measure them and record them into the National Tree Calculator. We will be testing the amount of water uptake on specific lots by measuring the size of the tree and using the National Tree Calculator to determine the stormwater uptake capacity.
