Vista Garden Experiment

Project by group svhspererafall2021

Explore In class, we have learned about monocot and dicot seeds and parts of a plant and their functions. We know the basic factors a plant needs to grow.
Research Question Do seeds need light to germinate?
Predictions We predict that the seed in the light will sprout before the seed in the dark.
Experimental Design We will put the same seeds into soil and water both of them with the same amount of water. The variable will be that one is going to be in a dark area and the other seed will be under the light.
Conclusion The seeds left in the light germinated better. The sprouts from the one in the light were dark green and standing on their own, while the sprouts from the dark sample were light green/white and did not stand on their own. We concluded that seeds germinate better in the light rather than the dark.
