Explore What affects seed germination?
Research Question How does different amounts of of water affect some seeds, and cause them to be ready for germination?
Predictions Our prediction is if 3 different seeds are put into 3 petri dishes one of them has extra water , one has less water and one of them has control amount of water. I think that the one with the control amount of water will germinate first because it has all it needs to germinate fully and not too much so that it drowns. I think that after the control germinates then the one with more water might die from- Delia
Experimental Design Procedure The night before experiment Take 4 circular paper towels. This will be the one with more water. Emerge the paper towels into the water. Let them soak overnight . Put paper towels into petri dish, one on top of the other. Lay 3 seeds onto paper towels. Take one circular paper towel. This will be the one with less water. Emerge 1/4 of the paper towel into the water. Let it soak in water until the water soaks into the 1/4 . Fold the paper into half so that the little bit of water gets all over the paper towel.jo0;. Put paper towel into petri dish. Lay 3 seeds onto paper towel. Take one circular paper towel. This will be the constant. Emerge the whole paper towel into the water. Let it soak in water until the water soaks into it. Put paper towel into petri dish. Lay 3 seeds onto paper towel. After that let it them in room temperature overnight. Repeat this process 3 times for every trial! after every day look what has changed and record it on paper.
