Research Question |
We know that plants play a role in our food chain. We also know that plants absorb CO2 , and go through photosynthesis. They are also producers. A question that interest us about plants is , Do different plant species effect how photosynthesis occurs? How does temperature effect the rate of photosynthesis. |
Predictions |
We want to test the effect that temperature has on photosynthesis. We came up with this question by brain storming all the different things that can contribute to photosynthesis in plants. |
Experimental Design |
A possible outcome from this experiment, could be that because water is too cold or too hot the plants wont be able to preform photosynthesis. |
Conclusion |
To measure the temperature change in our lab we will be using thermometers. We will wait 20 minutes for changes , we expect to see things start to change after the first 15 or so minutes. For our different temperature treatments first , we will be using two cups of ice water. to see how the lab will react to being in ice cold water, we will then use another two cups for hot water , both cups will be placed on burners . Because we don't wont the water to cool down. We want it to stay at the same tempt so we can have correct data. Lastly we will use another two cups with room temperature water. the reason we are using two cups for each tempt is so that we can compare them to each other. for better data. Then afterwards we will compare all the cups to see how the change in temperature effects the lab. The materials we will be using for this lab is 6 Cups , burners ( to keep the water 5C over the normal tempt), syringes , a light source (lap), ice ( for ice water) straws , spinach leaves, a whole puncher. timer , and a thermometer |
